Seachem Clarity Water Clarifier
Seachem Clarity is an advanced water clarifier for freshwater and marine aquariums, including reef tanks and planted aquariums. It uses a polymeric flocculating agent to clear all types of cloudiness in one dose, helping aquarium keepers restore clearer water through mechanical filtration.
Key Benefits
- Suitable for both freshwater and saltwater aquariums.
- Reef-safe and safe for aquarium plants.
- Targets all types of clouding with precipitating and flocculating agents in one bottle.
- Turns fine, floating particles into larger clumps that can be removed by filter media.
How It Works
After dosing, the water may briefly develop a cloudy haze. This is normal: Clarity binds tiny particles that are too small for the filter to catch, forming larger particles that mechanical filtration can remove. Rapid clarification should follow within 1–2 hours.
Dosage
Add 1 capful, equal to 5 mL, for every 80 L (20 US gallons) of aquarium water. Ensure the aquarium is connected to a filter with mechanical filtration, such as filter floss. Once the water clears, clean the filter floss or cartridge if the cloudiness was caused by chemical or particulate matter.
Suitable For
Seachem Clarity is suited to freshwater aquariums, marine aquariums, reef systems and planted tanks where cloudy water needs to be cleared without using separate products for different types of cloudiness or aquarium environments.
Sizes Available
- 100 mL
- 250 mL
- 325 mL
- 500 mL
Frequently Asked Questions
Can Seachem Clarity be used in marine aquariums?
Yes. It is formulated for both marine and freshwater aquariums and is safe for reef systems.
Is Seachem Clarity safe for planted aquariums?
Yes. The polymeric flocculating agent is described as plant-safe.
How much Seachem Clarity should I use?
Use 5 mL, or 1 capful, for every 80 L (20 US gallons) of aquarium water.
Why does my aquarium look cloudier after dosing?
A temporary increase in cloudiness is normal. It indicates that fine particles are clumping together before mechanical filtration removes them.
What filter media is needed?
Use mechanical filtration, such as filter floss or a filter cartridge, to capture the clumped residue. Clean it after the water clears.
